getting hot quickly

i  bought xperia z1 4-5 days ago 

this phone is good but if i brouse web for 10 min it get super hot  and even when calling it get hot

1. Its normal that your phone gets hot when you use it, more so when you play games, heavy browsing, etc. 

2. The materials make it seem as if its too hot 

3. If your phone was overheating it will shut down 

In other words, there's nothing wrong with your phone

I got my Z1 On Oct 18, and realized the camera have issue when take picture. So the dealer replaced my phone on Oct 25. And even after I update to the latest firmware. I still have other issur like overheating when I use the camera for about 10 minutes. I thought this is one of the best camera smartphone in the market. So what good does it do when I cant even use it???

Please dont follow the directions on the XDA website if you want to ensure your camera works.. that fix might sort the heating, but from what we know unlocking the bootloader causes the camera to stop working.. refer to sony's website on that.

This is my second Xperia Z1 Handset in just over 10 days. First was unusable on arrival (touch screen was non responsive right out of the box). The one I have current has SEVERE OVERHEATING issues to the point where it literally burnt someones arm. A red mark was present at the point of contact with the phone and remained obvious for 3 days after.

I've contacted Sony about this after having had the DOA handset replaced to let them know. The response is "we need it back for assessment and we'll pretty well see how we go."

I was told that the warranty states it will be a repair rather than a replacement even on a week old handset which is their so called flagship.

The build quality on this phone feels amazing but seems to be fundamentally flawed in terms of heat management.

Hugely disappointed with Sony's performance after making the switch from Samsung after many many years.

I have a sony xperia z1 heats up significantly when you use the camera after a brief period and then shows the notice of the device says stop the camera from work until the device cools!!

I've had the exact issue as strife. Just showing off the phone to a friend and using the camera apps. Phone was VERY hot on top end and a over heat warning popped up and camera wouldn't work. If this is normal then that to me is a bigger problem then if it is a possible flaw that needs to be addressed.

Its normal for a phone to get hot, if you are playing heavy games or syncing multiple accounts, etc it will heat up faster, and it could cause this issue. There isn't a way around this other than wait for the phone to cool down.

Not right. Something wrong with your phone.

Also, found someone else who had even better battery life!

No games on two .. But constantly sync .. Could be the cause of heat .. What is your advice to me?? Do you sync stopped when shooting!! Thanks..

I would suggest you turn off all data serivices when you are shooting. The data transfer antenas tend to heat up quite a bit.

So turn off and quit all games and turn off data and you should be able to use the phone for much longer... Any feature you dont need turn it off.. also if you are shooting inside, its good to also keep your screen brightness low.
