Why could the headphones which I got with Sony Ericsson Live With Walkman does not work with Sony Z1 Compact?

Different standard, 2010 and 2011 Xperias use OMTP; 2012 and newer CTIA, you need either, new CTIA headphones or a OMTP <=> CTIA adapter
