Kindle and Xperia

I have installed the kindle app but can't see any text when i open a book.

I  see the covers of the books and they appear to open ok I.e. no error messages, but all I see is a blank screen

It even tells me I am 4% of the way through the book, but no text

Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.

I would try uninstalling/reinstalling the application:

Main Menu > Settings > Apps > Kindle > Uninstall > Reinstall from the Playstore.
