I had problem with mic - people couldn't hear me, because my voice was very quiet. Then I switched off mic noise suppression and everything was fine. Until update to 6.0.1. Now I have the same problem. And I can't switch off mic noise suppression, because this option is simply missed.
Any ideas how to fix this now? Or I should downgrade to previous android version?
UPD: may,19. Sony market topic as solved. But it isn't really solved at the moment. They will roll out an update in "upcoming weeks". And because we still have the same problem, I unmarked topic as solved. As soon as we will have the noise suppression option back and this will really help us - then I will return the solved mark.
UPD 2: In. 575 version the noise suppression function is back. People can hear me again. Thanks, Sony

For this reason we will bring back the noise suppression setting as for some networks and circumstances it helps to turn it off. The settings option to disable noise suppression will be included in an upcoming Android™ 6.0, Marshmallow firmware maintenance update. It is set to roll out over the coming weeks, with timing and availability varying by device, region and/or operator.
Then why not make simple call test before rolling out 6.0.1 "official" update?
Also as we are telling you, we need that hot - fix NOW. Then you may work on "maintenance update"..
I dont know if you are realizing it but, because of the problem that you can solve in hours, you are losing premium customers here!
Hello? (ps: below image is working help you a lot while waiting update)

The tape didn't work for me. It only made it a little bit better but not like it should be

It is fixed by the servicestation where I addressed te problem
There solution: spray both mics with compressed air. Really hard so all the dust is removed. Blowing yourself will not work because that I already tried and didn't solved it.
Of course this solution is temporary because the dust will come back......
Yes i know, at least they barely understand me, without tape no one can. Alternatively you can put your finger above top mic while talking. About dust, you may have different problem then most people here. Our problem mostly cause by "removing" software solution of bad hardware design with 6.0.1 update.
On my z3 compact, covering the top mic doesn't help at all.
Why is this thread marked "solved"?
Because some sony employee post "promises" fix on following weeks and marked this topic as solved.
They do it in other phone's forums too.
By the way, spend some time and check other premium phone's forums too. Looks like sony has major problems all over their product family.
Sony really should spruce himself up otherwise i doubt if they will catch end of the year.

Nope. I had the same problem. In Android 5 I suddenly had the same problem and solved it with the noise-reduction. And after update to Android 6 problem was back.
Maybe not the solution for everyone but it's easy to try and for me it was the solution.

Another annoying feature of this forum. Typically a problem is not even acknowledged but when miraculously Sony does admit there is a problem, that seems enough to mark it as solved.
I understand that admitting a problem is major event for Sony but it is not the SOLUTION!

Message from Sony representative, that was marked as solution:
This workaround using a tape to cover the second microphone does also not work out for me. Still waiting for Sony to provide a software fix!
