Ultra not taking a charge from the computer.

Every other phone I've had will take a charge from the computer so I can charge it at work but my Ultra does not.

Is there a trick to it, was it designed this way, or is this a design flaw?

Hi, did you use the correct USB cable? Have you tried with another USB cable?

I've used the cord that I use with the wall charger. I've also used other cords. Nothing appears to work. Not sure why.

Is your phone detected when you plug it to the computer?

It was being detected but not light came on.

Someone on a different post mentioned holding the volume up key and the power key to solve a different issue so I tried it here because.......why not. It worked. Light is on.

Not sure why I need to hold that when it starts but okay then.

Last week i purchased this mobile, its too waste I never seen such worst performance mobile. Battery back up is too poor. Speaker Phone is not up the the mark. Some time its hanging and I couldn't able to unlock the pattern.

Sony service center is also poor, simply they told need to upgrade the software or else they will replace the mobile........ Is this is the way they will response to the customer why bought this mobile for INR 44000/- I lost hope in Sony products.

Hi Sunmoorthy, I suggest you perform a software repair with PC Companion first. As for battery performance, this should improve after several charging.
