Hi all
I've just got a new Sony Xperia Z, loving the big screen and real estate so far.
I use Mac OSX 10.8 at home and I'm having troubles syncing music from my iTunes playlist to the Xperia Z.
The problem is that while the Sony Bridge for Mac can indeed sync MP3 files from my iTunes playlist to the Xperia Z, but it cannot sync Apple Lossless music over properly, the Walkman player does not support Apple Lossless but yet the Sony Bridge for Mac still tries to copy Apple Lossless music over without converting to a format that is playable by the Xperia Z.
My entire music library are in the Apple Lossless format and I'm not ready to take weeks converting them just so the phone can play it.
As far as I know, Apple Lossless is now an open source codec, there is no reason why there is no support for it.
My friend's HTC 8S can sync fine with the Windows Phone app on Mac (pull playlist from iTunes, sync and convert Apple Lossless to MP3), it is essentially the same app as the Sony Bridge but made for Windows Phones. So it can be done.
I really miss the convinence of syncing files on my iPhone 5.
I hope Sony can address this in a future update.
Solved! Go to Solution.
As far as I know Bridge doesn't convert the music at all. I will however forward this feedback internally so we hopefully can get this feature implemented in the future.
Got the same issue...
It takes way too long for my Mac to detect the Xperia Z, once detected and ready to use it will take even longer to transfer files. It is much faster to take the micro SD card out of the phone and insert it in the SD slot of MAC but it is not really a preferred solution...
why is that not a good solution? I'm new to all of this. Thanks
