Z3 mic not working while talking on speaker

Ive just noticed this issue on my month old z3. People can hear me fine if i talk using the earpiece, but the moment i switch to speaker, my voice sounds distant, or I cant be heard at all. Ive tried factory reset, but no luck.

Try booting the device in to Safemode and see if the issue continues, if it does not then this will likely be an application that is interfering.

Experiencing the same after 5.1.1 update.

Ever since the new 5.1.1 update, I've been having issues with my mic on the other end of phone convo. Whenever I make a call or receive one, people cannot hear me at all and nothing goes through. This happens occasionally, but it is starting to happen more often and its pretty annoying ;(.

If I restart my phone, the problem goes away temporarily. I was tinkering around, and i found that if i put my phone on speaker and then back to mic, it would work. But I dont want to do that for every phone call.

My phone is a Sony Xperia Z3 and is running on stock 5.1.1 lollipop, nothing is rooted. Anyone else have this issue or know of a fix?
I have repaired by PC companion but useless.
Please fix it because it is making me mad about sony product

The mute mic issue need a hot fix! It has major impact on the phone's very basic feature - TALKING!! Sony, we need it fixed ASAP!

Hello my friends,

Today I had the same issue, my MIC was working normally for all the apps, except for calls. Everybody claim that can't hear me!

After read this forum I started to look out all the apps the could be using my microphone.

I figure out that the "ok google" voice function from the google app was actived for working from any screen (I had actived in this morning), when I desactived that function the microphone back to work normally.

My phone it's a Xperia Z3 D6633, Android 5.1.1, version 23.4.A.0.546

Were you able to solve the problem? And if you do a service test of seconday mic does it work? For me in the secondary mic test it will not or will barely pick up the sound of my voice or whistling but will pick up the sound of me bump the phone against my hand or table or whatever. I have the same exact problem in which normal phonecall will work but once i turn on speakerphone i cannot be heard

I have to reset my phone every time someone calls me they can't hear me I reset my phone then it works I have no idea how this could be maybe a bug with some apps I use voxer slot and it never has Mic issues but then as soon as someone calls again no one can hear me until a hard reset happens this phone is a week old what a joke

Hai, after last update I have a problem with my z3 microphone. Sometimes during calls the other party can't hear me. But the diagnosis shows that microphone is working fine. This is happening after I disconnect from my Bluetooth caller. If I restart z3 the problem goes. Please help

Hi my Z3's microphone is not working properly. It doest work for either calling in and out. The person on the other side cannot hear my voice. But it will work for a little while after i restart it, then went back offline.
If I use my bluetooth device, it is working.
Please pleasee help me
