Why are some of Sony's TVs being updated to get this app but not others? I'd like to know the reasons. It can't be that they do not have the technical know-how, as their PR always push their prowess in this field. Is it laziness or apathy then?
HI @Olethrion
As none of us on this forum work for Sony we don't know the reasons
why they made this decision.
If you're asking in relation to your own TV set then have a look Here for a further discussion
regarding this subject and a remedy 🙂
Thanks, Jumpsuit.
Have read the thread you suggested. Appears Sony is going to do sfa, so firestick (and similar) is the only way to go. It does irk though that I've spent £4K on a TV that is only just over 4 years old, and I've now got to spend another £50/100, to get access. Poor, substandard service in my book.
Cheers
Update
Sky has now included it in their apps (about 2 months ago) so as a member, now no need to buy a Firestick.
😀
If you could kindly share what model of TV you have, we could probably tell you if it now has ITVX or not.

I'm sure it is not on the list!
Hi @Olethrion
Models where ITVX is available from 20 March 2023:
I would make sure that your software is up to date.
Firmware update to v6.7210 | Sony UK
Note, the BU simple means Black, UK. Your model number is KD-65A1.
Thanks @LightFoot
The Sony Community did one of its occasional lockouts on me - sometimes when I try to login, the progress bar goes all the way across the top very quickly and nothing happens - but when I try later, as now, it’s OK again.
But you gave @Olethrion the exact answer I would have, if I’d been able to, at the time 🕒🕓🕔🕕
Hi Lightfoot
Thanks.
Checked and TV software is up to date (have it on automatic update, so should be anyway!) -
but no sign of the ITVX app.
That ‘from’ seems to describe a phased rollout, rather than an across-the-board update on that date, so maybe it hasn’t got around to you yet.
