Hello,
I am the owner of a Xperia S. Yesterday, I received a notification which said that a new frimware version is available. As it's my first update and that I still run 6.0.A.3.62 !!! (I had no proposition to update .73 for example, is this normal?) and I have got battery issues...
I have a few questions: when I want to update my phone with sony PC companion, it says that servers are overloaded... I just would like to know "WHY???". I used to have an iPhone before and I never had to wait to get the update... And I am very afraid about the famous ICS update, because it's already so difficult to update to another version of gingerbread 2.3.7.... I can't imagine when we will all update to ICS!!!
So could you please answer me: will Sony make an effort? I am very disappointed... I bought a Sony because I thought it was a quality and reliability brand...
If someone can answer me, I woould be thankful.
P.S.: However the Xperia S is a good smartphone, I would just like to get the update so the battery keeps longer...
Best regards

There is high pressure on the servers at the moment but if you get this error all the time it could be due to the Java version you're using on your PC. Try reinstalling Java with the latest version from www.java.com. Reboot your PC and try again.

Thx a lot for the answer.
I tried the Java thing but it doesn't work. I will now try to install SUS and try to update my phone with this. If it doesn't work, then I'll cry 😉
turn on your WiFi -> settings -> about phone -> software update
do you have an update notification?
also try SUS

I would suggest that you backup your current firmware whenever you do update to .73/.75/.76
that way you can flash ICS as soon as it's available, I'll create a thread like this
