Is there a .pdf version of the iManual for my TV KDL-32EX403 which I could print? I am a pensioner and need a paper version to read while I change settings etc.

Hi 1Edgar
Indeed, speaking on behalf of Sony, we absolutely do listen and monitor these forums for feedback and issue. Customer engagement is something we take very seriously.
All products ship with a printed guide of some kind and this guide is also available online. In the UK alone, we ship in excess of 1m televions per year and that number is multipled exponentially if you include other territories. So by utilising iMenu, quickstart guides and also making manuals available online we are doing away with the need to print and ship millions of supplementary booklets (just for TV's alone), the vast majority of which (our research has shown) never get used in the first place and simply get binned or recycled. At these kind of volumes, thats a lot of paper and an unsustainable waste of resources.
Warm regards.
Hi,
I think the big advantage is that you can't lose the manual, and if Sony placed a detailed manual as an option in the i-manual AND provided a PDF link for those who wish to print it off it would actually the best solution, and way ahead of the competition.
I don't think we should be so hard on Sony on this issue as long as they listen and improve the feature. At least they have tried a new process, which I think could work very well if tweaked.
Edit: Hi Meestar, with regard to the camera choice. I don't take my manual with me when I'm out and about or on hols, but if a detailed one existed within the memory of the cam for reference I think that would actually be a very good idea.

Hi Catmambo
I go back to my original point:
There is no downloadable full .pdf manual available online for the TV I have bought. Online there is only the iManual which I cannot access because I have an ancient computer.
What do you propose I do?
Can I return the TV as being 'not fit for purpose' because I cannot use it as shipped?
Hi 1edgar,
Would this be of use to you:
http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/model-documents.pl?mdl=KDL-32EX400®ion_id=1
It's for the equivalent US Model so there will be a few differences. Hope it helps.
Hi Seboyad,
Thanks for the link. That looks to be more or less what I am after. I wonder why there is no UK version available on the Sony website? Why did not 'Catambo' provide the link if he is the Sony rep monitoring the posts? It's beyond me!!
Thank you very much. I'm still going to write officially to Sony, though, because I'm not sure that our complaints on discussion forums are really taken seriously. (Actually, I've never been driven to post anything before, but this really made me mad after spending all that money!)
Thank you again.
Hi Edgar1
Seems to be a bit of confusion.
The link to the full manual and iManual was provided by Blencogo two posts down from your original post
http://support.sony-europe.com/tvhc/tv/lcd/lcd.aspx?site=odw_en_GB&m=KDL-32EX403
Which you can then click on the manual tab and select either
iManual
ftp://ftp.vaio-link.com/pub/manuals/consumer/imanual/az1_dvbt/3a-2/en.ZIP
or
Full Manual
http://pdf.crse.com/manuals/4174990131.pdf
Where you can either browse online the full manual or print it off yourself which I what I understood you were after..
Hope this helps
Thanks
Hi
There is no confusion.
As I wrote previously......
The manuals you point out are the UK versions and are very brief, just telling me how to access the iManual on the TV. They are about 20 pages long and the same as the one which came in the box with the TV. In any case, I cannot open the iManual as it is compressed and I do not have the software to do it on my computer.
The one I have downloaded, destined for the US market, is a .pdf full manual listing and describing how to use all the TV's features and is 60 pages long. This is what I wanted right from the start, but preferably a UK version. I just hope the US TV is not too dis-similar
Hope this explains what I, and doubtless many others, want and need.
I have printed the US version (30 sheets of paper, ink, electricity and most of all, my time) and will post its compatibility later if I find many differences in the TV.
In any case, after all this, I doubt if I will ever buy another Sony product.
