VGN CR21S/P Overheating and auto rebooting...

My laptop is less than 11 months old but it keeps turning off and rebooting. It's very annoying!

The laptop is plugged into the mains so it's not a battery problem. The bottom of the laptop is very hot to touch - is this the problem?

What can I do to stop this problem?

Thank you.

Hi SusieH,

what is the normal running temperature of your Vaio..?

If you're unsure PCWizard is a handy application to check your Vaio’s temperature. To download use the following link: PC Wizard

Do you get any error messages.?

As you're still within warranty I suggest you also contact Sony Vaio support, you can do this either by phone (Mon - Fri) or via e-Support, use the following link to find the contact details: Sony Vaio Support

Hi, I have Vaio VGN-FZ 21M, unfortantely I solve the same problem with overheating. What's the normal temperature of the GPU and CPU? After 5 minitues of using of notebook is my GPU's temperature 75 degrees. When I play a movie it's rising over 100 degrees.
Help me please, what I can do? Should I put it into service? May I claim the warranty? :slight_frown:

if your laptop is under the warenty then yes u can send it back to them where u bought it from and they should fix this problem, it sounds to me that the cpu is going to let u down soon or the hard drive is having problems and it gives a hard time to processor to overheat so much to a point when the set up system tells the laptop to shut down or the fan and the hit sink need to be replaced with a bigger or faster one to keep it cooler
