Google Cardboard

Does anyone know if the Z1 fits in a google cardboard holder? It looks like there are several types, supporting different phone sizes, but before I buy one I'd like to be sure that it fits and works. I know that for a similar holder (the Durovis Dive), the phone fits, but the volume button is constantly pressed, so it messes up the VR experience.

It looks like there is no Google support forum for cardboard (I only found maps, youtube, picasa and a few others). Besides, there are several parties offering cardboard headsets, so I'm not sure if Google knows about all of them.

So I figured I'd get a quicker answer from someone here who has experience
