Peugeot 208 and mirrorlink

I have an Xperia z5 and recently bought a new car, it's New Peugeot 208. The car and the phone are mirrorlink certified, but when i plug the phone in the car's radio it connects and shows the mirrorlink apps in car screen, but when i open one, this is showed in phone screen instead of car screen.

I have Android 5.1.1 and 32.0.A.6.152.

I think that's the idea from Mirrorlink, to view phone's screen on your car's head unit. If you connect the phone via Bluetooth instead you'll be able to control phone from your car screen without mirroring the phone itself.

Hi,

I'm not too sure if this will help abit, cause me myself i don't really use that feature.

But there is some info below related to compatibility and how can you check, hope this could answer why it won't work..

Hi Quester. Yes, the idea from mirrorlink is to view phone's screen on my car's head unit. But this is the problem. I don't see the phone's screen on car's screen. I can only see the apps with mirrorlink compatibility but when i open one, this is showed in phone instead of car screen. And when i try mirror the screen nothing happens.

The phone is certified (www.mirrorlink.com/phones/Sony) and the car too (www.mirrorlink.com/cars/Peugeot)

Any help?

Bandolero, i belibe that this information is too old. Because the phone is newer than all phones in the list.

Thanks for response.

Your mirrorlink should work as I use a 2014 Sony Headunit with mirrorlink and it works perfectly fine with my Z5P. Theoretically, your phone and Headunit should work fine together. One small issue I do have is that on the home screen, my screen does not rotate to match the orientation of the Headunit. Could this orientation issue be why you do not have an image on your in-car screen?

Thanks for response.

When the phone connects with the car appear a dialog in notification bar to unconnect and the phone screen rotate, if i don't state in home screen. But the screen rotate automaticly when i open a mirrorlink compatible app (for exampme rockscout). But only in my phone, the headunit screen isn't mirrored.

Sorry for my english, and thanks again for the response.

Have you possibly tried a different cable? Or does it have one supplied in the car all ready? Can you see if you can detach it and use a different one? If it's not possible to change it, then maybe go to the Peugeot dealer and see if they can provide you assistance with getting this working. Maybe there is an update for the head unit or something that they may know that we don't.
