Problems after Update

Hi!

I just updated my XperiaZ1 this morning and now it crashes and starts again every few minutes. What's the Problem and how can go back to the old version? I really can't work like this - so please help quick!

Regards G.

Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.

Does it crash/restart when you do something specific? I suggest that you boot your phone into safe mode to see if you experience the same behaviour:
http://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/FAQ/How-to-boot-your-phone-into-safe-mode/m-p/348008

But if this behaviour appeared after a software update, a software repair via PC Companion would be recommended:
http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/tools/pc-companion/

In PC Companion you press start on Support Zone > Start on Update the phone/tablet software > Repair phone/tablet (the blue clickable link in the message) > Follow these steps without having your device connected to the PC.

Follow the instruction that appears in the program and do not connect your device until this guide tells you how to connect it.

Thanks for the quick answer!

It does it all by itself, without me doing anything - that's the strange part...

I'll try your recommendations and see if I can fix it.

It still switches off and on after I did what you recommended...

1st It crashed/restarted also in safety mode

2nd I did repair it via PCC but it still crashes

What else can I do? It must be the Update I did, so is there a possibility to go back to an older version?

Now, I've done what you recommended - it switches off more often and because of that, I can't restore the saved data. Now I can't use the phone and have no possibility to contact my business partners because not even the data is on my phone.

Do you have any recommendations left or should I just get a new phone?

It worked fine just before the Update, so there must be something wrong with the Version 14.4.A.0.157...

I was quite happy with this phone for a long time - just minor problems, but now I'm really disappointed.

Unfortunately, it's not possible to downgrade to a previous software. If it was a problem with this software, everyone would experience this behaviour which is not the case. Have you tried to start the phone without SD- and SIM-card to exclude problems related to them?

But if the problem persist, I suggest that you visit nearest service center to have your phone examined by a technician. You can contact your local support team for information about nearest service center and/or how to proceed with this in the best possible way:

We're getting closer - I removed the SIM-card and it didn't switch off.

So I put it back in and after I switched off the "mobile data" it didn't switch off either.

Do you have any idea what it could be? Is it the SIM card or sth with the phone's connection?

At least I have the data back to make calls, and I think the other problem can be fixed as well...

Thanks!

If you activate mobile data, does the phone switch off? If yes, it may be related to your SIM-card. I would suggest that you try another SIM-card in that case.
