Can some-one give a definitive answer as to whether an Xperia Z3 Compact purchased in the UK is quick charge 2.0 enabled before I buy a QC charger for it? According to the Qualcom website both the Z2, Z3 and Z3C are QC 2.0 capable, however checking through this forum it appears that only the Japanese variant of the Z2 and Z3 actually have QC 2.0, is this the same for the Z3C? Thanks
Hi,
The z3c is compatible with quick charge 2.0 on the mirco-USB connector.
But will it allow the quick charge 2.0 with the magnetic connector? (not by the micro-usb connector).
I know that Sony doesn't sell yet a charger compatible with quick charge 2.0. but that's not the question.
Thanks for your help.
Sorry for the late reply.
Yes, it does support Quick Charge 2.0 over the magnetic connector but the magnetic charging dock must also support Quick Charge 2.0. Our DK48 supports it.
Hi Rickard
Can you please tell us which are the official chargers we can use for Z3 Compact?
I was searching with google but nothing found
Thanks
Razvan
Do you mean for Quick Charge 2.0? Currently, we do not have any Quick Charge 2.0 charger available.
Yes
For option Quick Charge 2.0
Ok. Understood. I will wait for future releases
I believe it is however for official confirmation contact Xperia care http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/support/contact-us/
I am trying to figure out if the z3c supports Quick Charge 2.0.
On Qualcomm's website it says that 2.0 is supported:
https://www.qualcomm.com/news/snapdragon/2014/06/04/quick-charge-20-has-arrived
But the charger that Sony packs with the z3c is 5V 1.5A charger. I'm considering buying one of the Quick Charge 2.0 chargers for travelling, and don't want to break anything if I end up using it on my z3c.
Also, will using Quick Charge 2.0 long term cause increased battery wear? From what I understand, the hotter the battery gets the more wear it will cause.
