Ringtone problem

when a ringtone is chosed it is giving an error like file format not supported what to do?

i want to say you that what ever the ringtone wheteher it is the default windows ringone or any other I choose it is giving the same error as file format not supported.

even I tried selecting xperia ringtone but still the same problem is arising. please help me out. it is an xperia x2.

even the default ringtones like xperia or windows phone are not supported.I even tried mp3 files but still it says file format not supported.windows media player is also not working.even it's not running on the phone.
