Hi all. Got out of work the other day. Plugged my M2 in to my car charger. It wasnt charging. OK it was very hot outside that day. So I waited until the next morning. Same problem. Stopped at a store on my way into work. Purchased a New charger (1A Capacity). Tried it. Phone wont charge inside my truck. The Fuse to the power port is good. Phone will charge when connected to a AC outlet though a USB adapter. Even charged off the USB port on my pc. For some strange reason, It wont charge inside my Tucson?? With 2 different chargers. All I got was a couple of green flashes then went out. It worked before.
I went to my Harley Dealer to pick up my bike tonight. Plugged my almost dead (34% battery) into the charger I carry on the bike. Would not charge. Even when off. Strange thing is, My father took me over so I could pick up my bike. The phone charged in his GMC using his Verizon charger.
Guess I need to talk to the Hyundai dealer?? Is it possible there is "Noise" on the Cigarette Port causing it?
Cars are not my area of expertise so it might be a good place to start. Good luck.
Today I tried the USB port in my Tucson. Seems to be charging through that port. Which is connected to the radio. Phone indicates Charging via USB. I made an apointment to have my dealer check my Alternator. As I was reading some AC Volts at the battery while idling.
Tonight I tried to charge off the Power Port on my motorcycle. Charger lights up. Phone does not charge. A different vehicle and charger. Power Port is hardwired to the battery (Using the Tender Harness) which does work.
I chatted with Sony Support on the website. He advised me to Factory Reset the phone. As he believed it was a Software glitch. Which I performed last night. Waiting for the Updates to test it.
It has to be the Phone. After the Reset it still wont charge. Tried it on the motorcycle. All I got was a Blinking Green light. Had no problem charging through my USB to Tender adapter. Guess I need to find a new phone. 2 M2's broke on me in the last year.
Can I perform a Restore Backup(from the M2) to a new M4??
Based on the information you have provided it leads me to believe it is not the phone, it sounds like there is not enough voltage coming from your vehicles to charge the device. However, if you wish to be sure, you can contact your local support team to arrange an assessment.
It is not possible to restore a back up between different models of phones or different Android versions.
I am an AT&T subscriber. Took the Phone and Charger to one of their stores today. He Tested my charger using his AC to Cigarette Adapter. My phone wont charge. So he tested using his personal phone. It charged his phone without issue. The same charger will charge my Garmin GPS without issue. I tested the charger with an ExTech True RMS DVM. Had 5.1V coming out of it.
If it is the phone the best option will still be to contact your local support team to arrange a physical assessment.
I have an International version. Purchased last November. From a seler on Amazon. How do I contact the local suport team for assesment??
