Hi all. Got out of work the other day. Plugged my M2 in to my car charger. It wasnt charging. OK it was very hot outside that day. So I waited until the next morning. Same problem. Stopped at a store on my way into work. Purchased a New charger (1A Capacity). Tried it. Phone wont charge inside my truck. The Fuse to the power port is good. Phone will charge when connected to a AC outlet though a USB adapter. Even charged off the USB port on my pc. For some strange reason, It wont charge inside my Tucson?? With 2 different chargers. All I got was a couple of green flashes then went out. It worked before.
Hello. It only seems to charge when plugged into an AC adapter or the USB on my pc.
Tonight I tried it in my Tucson. Kept getting an eror message flashing. Something about the USB device being disabled. I don't get a Green or Red light. Battery just discharges while connected to the car charger.
Hi @Elantramax,
If it is charging via USB and via a power point, it would indicate that nothing is wrong with the phone and the issue is with the USB port in the vehicle. I recommend you test that with other devices first.
I plugged my car charger into another Power Port. The one in the trunk. Since its on another fuse. Same problem.
Can you test it on another car? Sounds like it's not pushing out enough power to the USB ports in your car to effectively charge this phone. I also recommend you try another USB cable in case this is the issue.
I don't think you're reading my Posts. I am not using the USB port. I have tried 2 chargers in the Power Port(Cigarette). Has no problem charging from the USB (2.0) port on my PC. Which only puts out 500 Ma. I have even tried using a seperate Power Port(Cigarette) in the trunk. Which is on its own(Seperate) fuse. Will not charge. And I kept getting an error message. About a USB device. I have even tried a Lithium Jump Starter. Charges through the 5V USB. But not through the Cigarette Socket.
I get "USB devices disabled error" when I plug into my Car charger.
If it is charging on your computer, and charging on the wall adapter, then the issue has to be with the car, not the phone, or you would be seeing the same error message on all three. This is why I want you to troubleshoot the car specifically.
I checked the Car with a DVM. 14.1V at Idle. Checked the Charger, 5.1V. The phone only seems to charge when it is Powered Off. Which tells me its the phone.
