Tethering/Mobile Hotspot

My Z5 is now unable to hotspot or tether to my computer with windows 10. I've tried tethering from a Nexus and Galaxy, both worked fine. When I tether it says 'no internet access' and won't load anything. When connected to the hotspot it would take about 2 minutes to load google home page and 5 minutes to load Facebook. Yet internet works perfectly fine on my phones browsers. Any ideas?

Can you try to enable tethering without password protection? Does it work faster and does it connect correctly? If the answer is yes try to change protocols.

Unfortunately it's the exact same speed even without password protection and no security.

Ok so at this point try this: Once connected go to speed test and check the speed... But mostly pay attention to the ping value. How much is the ping!? A healthy ping value should anything between 0.5 and 25...

Ok so try this...

On your windows computer, open the network preferences and go in the in the wifi settings, ipv4 and try to change the DNS to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 test again for speed.

Open Network and Sharing Center
Click on WiFi then Properties
Ipv4... On the window that appear select that you want to use your own dns..

Does it works faster?

You may want to disable also ipv6 and that some times improve the speed when using cellular connection.

Yep! That completely fixed my hotspot issue. Will try the tethering later when I have a cable on me.

Nice!!! Usually all tethering issues are always dns relayed if the network connection on the phone is fast!
