Yesterday I was in the Sony support chat and asked the women whether they know about the issue and what Sony is planning to get rid of the problem. I knew the answer already before I asked the question: Sony is not aware of that touchscreen issue.
Do you have a screen protector installed? How is it if you boot in safe mode?

I was talking about a 3rd party screen protector, not the default one.Sure, keep us updated.
I have the same issue that is described in the original and subsequent posts. The keyboard loses touch occasionally while swiping, resulting in erroneous inputs. It is extremely frustrating. I wasn’t able to reproduce the issue in the Sketch app tests but the countless typos I have to correct throughout the day as a result of this problem are ample evidence for the fact that it exists.
I’ve sent an email to Sony India requesting a fix, but I don’t know what I’ll do even if they replace the phone, because it seems clear from your posts that the replacement unit will also exhibit the same problem. And because it’s been over a month since I bought this phone, I think I’m stuck with it now.
Combine this with the significant delay in the proximity sensor’s response when bring the phone away from your ear and the extremely terrible camera output in all but the brightest of settings, and I am deeply regretting having bought a Sony phone. I definitely will not be recommending it to anyone.
Did you also try a software repair? If yes and did not help, you should visit a sony service.
