Hello everyone!

We tried out a new concept where we mainly let our community assist each other with product/feature questions in the Xperia XZ Premium board and it was a success! So, let's keep it rolling. 

The purpose of this thread is to ask anything that you wish to know about the Xperia XZ1 Compact; other users owning an Xperia XZ1 Compact and forum staff will do our best to reply! 

As an example, prior to purchasing an Xperia XZ1 Compact, you may be wondering if someone has tried out a specific third party app or feature on their XZ1 Compact, and could tell you a bit more about the compatibility and functionality as the app may important in your daily life. Staff and other users can come in and reply and let you know how it works!

The goal of this thread is to help each other out as a community. We will try to moderate this thread so that any new threads with a fitting question will instead be moved here, while we of course keep support threads the way they are now.

Hi, following the recent software update, my volume button alters the media volume rather than the ringtone volume by default. Any way of changing it back to ringtone volume please?

Go to Settings, scroll down to bottom, select "Support", click on "Battery", you'll see the charge level and the temperature too.

About updates: avoid 47.2.A.6.30, that version broke my NFC completely, since I installed Android Pie I can't use NFC. Sony technical support asked me to send back the phone to them for repair (however it's clearly a software issue, NFC was just working absolutely fine with Oreo; it's Sony's Android Pie update that rendered the NFC feature void).

I'm trying to set up the Sony Music app to play music stored on Google Drive. I'm logged in to Drive, but I get the message "No music in folder". Does anyone know of a way to manually point the app to the folders where the music is stored? Alternatively, can anyone recommend an Android music player that works well with Google Drive?

I'm sorry but this is actually the new way of implementing volume controls in Android Pie. IMO this is absolutely silly but there's no way to do otherwise without rooting the device or buying some app to remap the buttons...

The latest update changed the way you set sound choices in a very poor way.   The previous way was so easy and intuitive.  . Now, when I am on the train for example, and I try to turn down alarm volume, my phone sounds the alarm noise!   What were you thinking! This was a big step backward.   Any way to revert to the old sound settings?

I ordered my xz1 compact when ordered asked for dual sim model. I think i have been sent single sim model. How do you know the difference between the two visually or in software.  Are they the same but with a diffrent hybrid SIM tray/trays i have tried to insert dual sim like shown in sony dual sim youtube video and it does not fit into the micro sd tray even sideways it was a regular sim with tear outs for the smaller size which was too large then another tearout so the sim now smaller a third time this time too small. It doest say sim this way only mark on tray is micro sd yet i ordered dual sim and doesnt fit the way video support shows, the box and nothing indicates dual sim. The network company are emailing me back in response to me raising it to them id like to be sure im correct as it may be my error. Can you get diffrent trays for this model and when dual sim inserted it then says dual sim with the hybrid tray which mine may not have G8441 in settings i believe the model. Id really appreciate any help advice or guidance

Hi @Sonycompactlover;

The XZ1 Compact does not have a Dual SIM version, you only have available the G8441 wich is a normal (single SIM) version.

If you really want a Dual SIM phone you can try the XZ1 Dual SIM (G8342) but isn't a "compact" version.
