I deleted an entire sms message thread 4 months ago and tried to recover it using available programs. I was reluctant to root my phone since it's still under warranty so I could not do what they say to do.
I did find the 'back up and restore' file to Google drive and it shows sms, but I don't know how to use it. Also as it's been 4 months, will the backup that was saved at the time be overwritten by the new backup which therefore won't have the sms on it?
Is there a way to see if they are on the SD card?
