Won't install update

Has anyone had a problem installing the current Android update.
My phone gets halfway then reboots and says unable to install update.
Any suggestions?

this is my story,

I reside in Indonesia and having xperia xz Singapore region. I was using flashtool (xperiafirm inside) and downloaded android N France region. Flashing was seemed running well, but its said error nearly at the end of the process. Now, my XZ couldn't get into and saying that the update was failed and make sure it's connected to PC. I have been flashing it over and over again but still don't work. please help.... thanks

*xperia companion couldn't detect my XZ, I pressed down the power and volume up button till it vibrated three times, the bootloop still going.

Hi, Flashtool isn't still compatible flashing Android Nougat, and I think that Xperia Companion too.

I solved the brick of my phone after trying to Update with Xperia Companion (yes, Xperia Companion bricked my brand new device) with the following steps:

Flashed Marshmallow Firmware of any region but of your model, per example, F8332.

Update from OTA to Nougat.

Make a Hard Reset.

Hi, I tried the first day of the launch of Android 7.0 to repair my device, but, Xperia Companion was bricked my device.

So, is secure to repair now?

I have the same problem.

Brand new Xperia X Compact. Out of the box - the phone's system update offered download and installation of Android Nougat 7.0 (34.2.A.0.266). OK...Download...Continue...Power down...Verifying system update...Reboot...finally "Software update - Could not install new software version. Please try again." So I tried again, and again, and again... still no success.

After reading the support forums, it seemed I should update via PC, so I installed Xperia companion and selected Software Update. The phone appears to start the update, installation and reboot. Finally I get the error: "An error occurred while updating your device. Error code: kResultCode_DeltaUpdateResultDidReturnFail"

Is there anything else that I can try first before running Software Repair? Let's face it, I've already spent time installing aps, backing up and moving all my data to the new phone. I don't want to run Software Repair unless I have to, and unless I am sure that this is ABSOLUTELY going to work. Come on SONY, what's going on here. I buy Xperia phones cos they're supposed to work like a dream, how can so many people have the same problem?!

Failed to install Update. i have enough free storgage and have try The Update via Handy and PC multiple Times and after a restart too.

Run the software repair through Xperia companion. Anything else will probably be fruitless

Hello Christopher I have the same problem, I can't update the last version in my xperia XZ, I tried using  WIFI and  xperia companion with the same result, the software is downloaded properly but in the next step "Install" my cell phone turns off and when it's restarted there is a message: the updated can't be installed because the error code: kResultCode_DeltaUpdateResultDidReturnFail

I hope you can help me or tell me where can I find help

I have already tried software repair and it would not do that either. came up with an error message unable to perform repair.

Still waiting for Sony to respond to this!!

I suggest to you and all other users that have the same problem, to read my guide in the X Compact section.

The thread is named "Clean installation system update".

To me and other users, it works perfectly without any messages of error.

I suggest to try with patience and report your personal experience after.
