getting hot quickly

i  bought xperia z1 4-5 days ago 

this phone is good but if i brouse web for 10 min it get super hot  and even when calling it get hot

If its gets hot by 10 mins of usage, its better to take it to the service center.

Are you upgraded to .534 firmware? If not try doing it, z1 used to gets hot but after the update it was fixed, I myself tried playing with kernels and overclocking it to check if it gets hot, it doesn't and if you're already on .534 and it's heating up, take it to service center.

I can assure you that it is quite normal for the phone to generate heat whilst in use due to the processor used and its proximity to the glass casing of the handset. I would only be concerned if it was generating heat when not in use or if the heat gets to the point where the handset is powering off.

Hi,

A couple of days back, I too bought Xperia Z1 and was impressed with it in every aspect.  Very shockingly, after I started using it, I couldnt hold the phone.  It became very hot.  Xperia Z is not new to me as I have been using Xperia Z for the past 4 months.  As you said, when I was using the camera app, it gave me a message that it is shutting down the camera.  Thats okay.  But, why does it heat up so much.  At this point of time, if we touch the phone with cold hand or keep it on a cold surface, I fear, the rear side glass will break.  

I took it to the dealer and they said since this is very new product and they have no idea as why it is happeneing and advised me to use it as such for a couple of days more.  Please explain this unusual feature.

I have Sony Xperia Z, Xperia Z1 and Xperia Z (Wi-Fi & LTE) Version.  I love all the sony products.

hi i am using z1 and i got a warning that phone is over heating....i got that while using the camera.....plz help me out and i have measured the temprature and it showed insane 50 degrees plz help me as soon as possible

Good morning guys,

Finally concluded my heat problem.

When the phone is not in use and has no programs running the temp reads.  

Top = 29C (82F)

Bottem = 27C (81F)

Now when your processing information or when the phone is charging the temp rises:

Top = 45C (113F)

Bottem = 37C (98.6F)

I can now confirm where the phone heats up it is where the charging point is and also under the led light.
