getting hot quickly

i  bought xperia z1 4-5 days ago 

this phone is good but if i brouse web for 10 min it get super hot  and even when calling it get hot

I got the same FW build and idont have heat issues, i tested the phone with Modern Combat 4 and Real Racing on both builds, the .534 and previous one .531. 

I played 15 minutes on each game and temperature got around 50 degrees, after five minutes it started dropping and got to 45-46 degrees. Plus i never had a heatup shutdown message on my device.

The Z1 just isn't cut out for heavy usage. I've noticed some improvements by avoiding using Stamina mode and chargers below 1000mAh.

mine gets over heated very quickly too! could it be another firmware problem? i have not experience any over heating like this when i was using my Xperia Z. please fix this Sony!

I got the Xperia Z1 4 days ago and I just love my device. The only problem I'm experiencing is the overheating issue. I updated the firmware on the day one as suggested by Sony. The phone heats up very much that I can't hold it in my hands after using it for around 10 minutes on basic apps like dialler, messaging, browsing, listening music or using camera. Haven't tried any games yet. I once got a pop-up message when I tried to launch the camera saying that the phone is over heated and I need to wait for it to become cool. I am deeply worried about this. Hopefully this is a firmware issue and I request sony to have this fixes as soon as possible.

That's normal, it seems to get hot faster than other phones because of how thin it is and the materials. Now, if it gets too hot then the phone should shut down.

What country / temperature do you live? 
For me it is fine, no any overheating. 
It gets warm, of course, but like normal for fastest 4 core processor on the market.

To be quite honest, I find the "see a dealer" suggestion a little off-reality. A single defective unit I'd get, but given the number of people (just scour Facebook or G+) who complain that they can't use the Social Life live streaming functionality because using it heats up the device so quickly the camera which is what Social Life is all about, shuts down, this isn't a defect as much as it's a bug.

This seems to be an ongiong theme. No matter what is being reported (all serious reviews say that camera noise is bad, for example), someone will bring up the "rare defective unit" defense. So every picture tagged with Z1 or c6906 on Flickr and Picasa has been taken with that elusive "defective" model? Every review site has a defective unit? Everyone trying to Social Life stream to Facebook has one?

I picked up Z1 on 29th Sep after exchanging my Z which was defective under DOA. Phone over heats, poor camera quality and over sensitive touch screen ( you will end up enabling other phone feature while on call) and when i called the customer  as expected asked me to take the phone to a sony service center which i did and it was 7th day and the resolution given was to flash the software and i was informed that its normal for Z1 to heatup even if you take 4 to 7 pic ( Phone gets very hot some time even with little browsing, calls and message) and asked me to monitor and they were not ready to log a workorder and again i had to call the customer care on mondayto report the issue that still phone gets very hot ( even during normal use) and took the phone to service center and finally they agreed to log a complaint and they have acknowladge that software was flashed on 7th day and now my phone is at service center and they are not ready to offer DOA. How cheap sony can be to cheat customers in India. I paid rs 42k and i dont get to use my Phone and every time i call the customer care ( They are funny people who are fit to be in a third grade circus) they offer call back but never do. Finally the issue is escalated to region repair head ( Vinayak) and i am not sure what he will do. I have all the recording of the call conversation ( call center and service center) and i will logging a consumer complaint and placing ads in leading news paper on how Sony is cheating customers

Hope i get my issue sorted and i promise will never buy a sony product ( I own  42in Led, 32in LCT, 29in CR, blueray player, HIFI system, 2 line cordless and 2 side walkman from SONY) VERY DISAPPOINTED
