getting hot quickly

i  bought xperia z1 4-5 days ago 

this phone is good but if i brouse web for 10 min it get super hot  and even when calling it get hot

jay i think youre looking at this wrong.. what youre seing there is estimated battery usage. go lower and click the actual battery usage at the end of the day or when you are close to 1-2%. That is more accurate with regards to your battery life. 

I am currently getting a full day without a recharge which is pretty great for me since im mostly on the net and making calls. The longest i have gotten on a single charge is 1 day and 18 hours......

My battery barely lasts a day of moderate usage! I doubt it's  wakelocks because my phone only drops a few % during the night with WiFi on and no stamina mode, but as soon as I start using it the battery drains quite a bit. Its not unreasonable, but its hardly great. I struggle to get about 3-4 hours of screen time on a about 10% auto brightness but by then I'm on around 10% down from 95%. And that gives me about 16 hours total at a push with 6-7 hours being asleep and stamina mode on during the day

I'm not sure if this is a software issue or my hardware just isn't great.. I have only had the phone for 2 months so I doubt the battery has lost its charge. Any help would be appreciated!

I have this same issue of phone draining faster that charging, using a USB/wall charger.  Phone gets hot but no camera issues that I know of but I don't use the camera often..

Battery drains very fast when using my phone.  Lasts for maybe 2-3 hours..is this a warranty issue?

Thats normal, a screen this size an full HD will drain your battery faster, also you might want to turn off the Xreality engine

But the thing is there are people easily getting 5, 6 even 7 hours of screen time. What are they doing differently? My x reality is off too. With such a big battery I'd expect more. But I can barely get a day of use! Today I went down from 100% to 10% in 13 hours with only 3 hours screen time and stamina mode on. I don't get how people are getting close to 1 day battery. Also I use greenify for most apps apart from k9 mail and whatsapp which are also on stamina whitelist.

Not sure how that compares with other people but from what I've seen mine is pretty bad

Its all about how you use your phone, how many apps you have running in the background, how many apps are syncing and also, a lot of people don't take it into consideration but if you have a poor network coverage it will drain your battery a lot faster, if you leave bluetooth and wifi on all the time, it will drain your battery faster.

No , problem ? Thats definately a HUGE problem . Mine is two months old , when taking pics & videos it warns me that the temp is too high & shuts down . No phone I have ever had has this problem , no matter how long it's used . For a phone to  have such a good camera & then not be able to use it is crazy . Send it back , get a new one . Yours is clearly faulty .

hi iv not long got the eperia z1 ,i know phone can heat up ,but my one has heated up a few times now ,normally if im trying to do 2 or 3 things at the same time ,it seems like the back  gets very hot ,and i mean hot ,is this normal ,phone is great ,i love it ,but would not like to think it will blow up in my hand or at my ear ,can someone help me out and tell me if this is normal ,is it just the chips heating up or is it the battery ? ,seems to be hot on the back off it just above the middle ,thanks for any help

Hi

It should not get very hot. It's the processor that gets warmed up. Android phones do generate a lot of heat when used heavily.

If you're unsure about it and you think there's a problem with your phone then please take it to nearest Sony center for examination. They should be able to confirm it for you.

I am disgusted by retailers like Vodacare, Vodashop, Vodacom4u trying to sell me knock off products, like chargers, Phone covers, at the same or even more priced than original units.

I am unable to find a Magnetic Dock charger or even a original accessory for my Sony Z1.

Just a quick Question since day one my phone gets hot by the camera area while on charge or playing a game is this normal?

Otherwise i am happy with the product. Just the recording section does not record and some freezing of  the phone in need of hard reset power+volume. ( from out of the box near 34% battery) hoping kit kat will solve this issue.

Please consider magnetic car dock charging unit also, using Bluetooth
