getting hot quickly

i  bought xperia z1 4-5 days ago 

this phone is good but if i brouse web for 10 min it get super hot  and even when calling it get hot

Hey All,

For phone overheating issues plz update your phone through SUS to .757 and try your phone to safe mode and charge your phone after switch off. In this way battery will not be harmed and back up will not be reduced also no harm to your phone. Apply it 2-3 times but only for complete charge while switched off step.

I have .757 now and after update many issues I was facing similar to you all but now no issues as I tried as said above and also observed now phone is cool all time even continous usage for surfing and downloading over 3G till 3-4 hours. Back up is also improved as I feel.

you were saying the problem was fixed... i'm also using the same c6902.... but quick heating problem camera issues were there... could you post your batery temps?? may be at idle, using camera and gaming... could you able to charge it ON state?? pls post your battery temps..i cant hold it bcoz of excessive heating...

I bought Xperia Z1 a week back & was too late to read this. Visited Service Center 3 days back with thermal heat indicator. After taking a video at service center, I asked one of their Customer care exec to keep that phone close to their ear & everybody laughed when he screamed "OH **bleep**". I was real polite to say that "Yes, that's the **bleep** I bought it for 40 thousand bucks". Then I showed them temperature on thermal heat indicator which showed 43 degree celcius. As there were no other application installed & no SD card, they took my phone for replacement. Today I got the sealed pack bull **bleep** as replacement. Opened it at their center & repeated the step and it again met my expectation by making my hands hot. The executive was quite sad & embarrassed so I skipped his ear hot testing. He said "Sir please use it for 3 days then will see if we need to replace again". Trust me on both day there were long queue for Z1 customers for replacement for the same issue. I know that nothing can be done now for my mistake of buying Sony mobile still have small suggestion for Sony for their benefit. Requesting Sony to please shut down their mobile business immediately for shake of people & start focusing back on Music system & TV where you are champ. The people visiting your service center are so annoyed that they (including me) have lost faith in Sony especially Z1 complains is all over the web (Sorry got to know after buying) 😞 In ideal scenario Sony should recall all this model & either replace with new non-defective one or return their money.

Please note, in my both phones there were no other application installed, No SD card, McAfee anti-virus also un-installed. Both were tested at Android 4.3 & 4.4.2 (Kit Kat but for Sony it is hot pizza). Heating up on using it.......be it Camera, Games or simply call.

last week i upgraded from 4.3 to 4.4.2... but before upgrading, i read some post that we can downgrade back to 4.3 without losing warranty.. so keeping in that mind,i upgraded to kitkat...overheating,camera issues, charging issues............decided to flash 4.2.2,which is a stable version... but eventhough after downgrading to 4.2.2 the overheating problem is still there....phone does not charge properly.... tried all firmware versions 4.2.2,4.3,4.4.2....none of these solved overheat problem....so anybody with same problem even after downgrading??.... 

i've decided to seek help from sony service center..so again flash back to 4.4.2 beause those foolish staff will say updating your software will solve the problem.... buy my problem stated only after updating the phone software...:smileytongue:

and also tried repairing 4.4.2 thru pc and sus nearly 3times each.. didnt work...:smileysad:

you can see from the pics that at idle it stays at 34 like that and within a minute it reaches 40... til now highest temp is 45.... really frustated.. need help....

Hi

On my phone temprature is 33C and while using continously for 19 minute it was 38C.

Please dont be hopeless just try it till your phone become normal

Firstly u update to latest KK 4.4.2 (.757) version and format the phone once completely with its internal memory also.

Do not use your phone while charging if it still feel like hot then switch off the phone and then charge.

Use latest firmware update it through PC Companion I also did it as

Start in safe mode and use all functions like accesing media in audio and video player.

Start your phone use in normal way.

Whenever u feel ur phone is becoming hot while using then just press ON/OFF and volume up keys and restart phone.

I followed as above after all now phone in working fine on KK 4.4.2 (.757) version.

I just have restored my contacts after formatting.

Afterwards I found another post who also get success by using all these methods by his own all steps were similar to my steps.

Overall I want to say you keep your phone on rest for atleast 3-4 days just charge it while switched off and use it normally do not load the phone with all the applications instantly.
