Z5 Microphone Problem

Hey guys, I recently just purchased the Z5 on Black Friday and starting last night I've been experiencing a problem related to my microphone in that it isn't working. No one can hear me during calls or when you record videos.

I checked to see if there was microphone suppression settings but unfortunately there isn't any.

I want to see if I can fix it first before taking it in just because my old phone broke on Halloween and I went an entire month without a phone up until j got this one and so I'm trying to avoid letting it go.

I realized z5 had many about jack headphones and microphone problems. Recently I got problem in calling, when in coming calls and video call messenger and whatsapp. People couldn't hear me when I opened speaker to talk to them. Therefore I couldn't do face time at all. Becuz people couldn't hear me while I could hear them.
First I already run the diagnostic test in the phone, the recording and everything was was fine!! Then watching videos the speaker was functioning well.

So I couldn't know what is the problem as I tried many ways. Sony, pls report to your headquarter. And solve z5 isssue as among others z5 users also having same problem too.

and guess what I have the exact same problem.  Mic works when headphones are plugged in but no other time.  I have opened is safe mode used Xperia companion to replair and all to no avail.  How can sont have this major problem but no-one tries to fix it?

This is due to hardware problem.Send it to Sony customer care for motherboard change. If in warrenty nothing will be charged.

Send it to Sony customer care. This is due to motherboard malfunctioning. Company will change it nd it will take 7 to 15 days .

wow downloading soundabout worked , i am out of warranty cant imagine the cost to send 1000 miles away and pay for the fix, this actually worked, nothing else did, full resets, safe modes, cleaning mice port, audio jacks etc nothing worked, forcing the audio to speaker via this software does???? Dont know if this was due to latest update , i didnt do one but may have been automatic???

Soundabout is a temporary solution.

You need to send your device to Sony care nd they will change mother board . It may take 10 -15 day. They may provide spare set if available at that time

Good day. I had the same problem. Suddenly it started with a lot of noise for those who listened to me. I entered this forum and read the comments about it. I performed the microphone test with a recording app and verified the noise present in the main microphone. I connected the handsfree and the noise in the recording was canceled. In this way I verified that the problem was in the main microphone of the cell phone. According to a suggestion in this forum, I carefully cleaned the small hole of the microphone with a soft brush and then blew it. Surprise, the noise in the main microphone was eliminated completely.
