Hello everyone!

We tried out a new concept where we mainly let our community assist each other with product/feature questions in the Xperia XZ Premium board and it was a success! So, let's keep it rolling. 

The purpose of this thread is to ask anything that you wish to know about the Xperia XZ1 Compact; other users owning an Xperia XZ1 Compact and forum staff will do our best to reply! 

As an example, prior to purchasing an Xperia XZ1 Compact, you may be wondering if someone has tried out a specific third party app or feature on their XZ1 Compact, and could tell you a bit more about the compatibility and functionality as the app may important in your daily life. Staff and other users can come in and reply and let you know how it works!

The goal of this thread is to help each other out as a community. We will try to moderate this thread so that any new threads with a fitting question will instead be moved here, while we of course keep support threads the way they are now.

Is there a way to get new message/email / voicemail notifications to be displayed, either constant or intermittent, on the sleep screen?

Dear friends!

I have now replaced my Xperia X Compact with a new XZ1 Compact. I have two problems:

1. I can not find the display to turn on the screen with 2 tapping.

2. When sending an SMS, I do not recommend sending a business card.

Do you have these solutions?

Hey,

I got a question regarding the DSEE HX technology: Does it work with any third party music player? Or do I have to use Sony's Music App for it?

Hi @Jogglpiet, I only have information dating up to the Xperia XZ - but the information which I have available mentions that the technology is only available while playing back music using the built-in music app.

I will try to see if this also applies for the Xperia XZ1 Compact, and write you back once I know more in order to confirm the information!

Has anyone else experienced Swiftkey to become nearly unusable in the last month?  Autocorrect and suggestions does not work properly.  This wasn't an issue several weeks ago and then suddenly it stopped working correctly.

Has anyone managed to disable this app and use another keyboard app?

I've installed Google keyboard and it's working much better than Swift.

My Sony Xperia Z5 Compact was stolen. If I replace with a Sony Xperia ZX1 Compact will the backup data on my laptop via Xperia Companion be transferable easily outwith any issues?

Is the data in a android non standard format? Or maybe encripted, or both? Could I transfer the backup data to a non Sony android phone?

I've read elsewhere that a recent update caused some issues. Try going into App Info (for Swiftkey) > Storage > Clear Data & Clear Cache. This will most probably also delete any user info such as learned words and so on.
