Enchancement request for Xperia Z and other Xperia devices

Hi, I have been using the Xperia Z for about 3 months now ( previously have been an iPhone user) I am really hoping that Sony reads this and acts on it First of all The blackout feature (when phone is touching the ear the screen is blocked off) should work for proximity as well. I have had numerous occasions where I am holding the phone by my shoulder ( to write a note) and my ear switches off the phone. This is unacceptable. PLEASE fix this ASAP. Send, when the phone rings and you want to send a sms message the feature of Google search should be disabled. I have been in numerous situations where I slide my finger from the bottom of the screen upwards to reply to the caller with a sms but instead I start the Google search function. It should be switched off during a call in feature ( GSM network does not woprk any way) Third, one thing that I am really missing from iPhone is global search of iPhone itself ( desktop search) . In a search bar you type something and anywhere it exists in the phone it will be found ( e-mail, sms, calendar, contacts, downloaded files, etc.) I do miss that. Please let me know how I can alert Sony to apply these features to new releases. BTW, any other suggestions of useful functions and or enhancements are welcome. There are other things but are minor for me. Regards Perfektcom

Thanks for the feedback!

Regarding the proximity sensor this is actually by design and not a fault. When you hold the phone horizontally the screen will be on even if proximity is triggered. This is so that you can use the phone without problems during a call. As the proximity sensor is very sensitive there could be problems using the phone during a call if it was always enabled.

What you can do is to go to Settings -> Accessibility and disable "Power button ends call". You can then turn off the display using on/off during a call if you want to hold it horizontally without risk of ending the call.

I'm not sure if a standard Android feature can be disabled at certain times but i'll forward the feedback. At the moment i can only advise that you try not swiping up on home. To reject with SMS you should put your finger above the home button and swipe up.

You can set Google search to search in local apps as well. Open Google, minimize the keyboard, tap menu -> Settings -> Phone search and select what apps you want to search.
